Product catalog

ApliCAD Interior uses two different kind of libraries: 2D libraries (for such products as tiles, marbles and ceramics in general) and 3D libraries (for such things as sanitary items, furniture, faucets.). To include any manufacturer's catalog in ApliCAD Interior program is free of charge both for the manufacturer and the customer. Technical requisites for both types of libraries are different but they share simplicity in the information requested.

2D Catalog

Two basic elements are needed for creating this type of libraries: a data base with the basic information on every item, as code number, series, model and sizing, and an archive with individualized digitalized images of all items to being incorporated.

Data base is elaborated from a template. There are two types of References sheet, according with your needs as a manufacturer: Basic References (minimum obligatory data - download here) and Extended References (for companies that need a bilingual or twuo different units of measurement catalog: U.S. Customary system as well as Metric System - download here) being its different fields clearly explained in "Explanation_References_Sheet.pdf" (clic here for downloading).

As regarding to images, they may be either in BMP, JPEG, TIFF, EPS, TGA or GIF formats, (please ask ApliCAD for other formats), correctly delimitated, with no borders or shadow effects, and a minimum quality requirement 72 ppp. See examples:

3D Catalog

For this type of catalog, the 3D models of all items to incorporate are required by ApliCAD Interior, in an AutoCAD or 3ds Max compatible format, as DWG, 3DS, IGES, STEP, Sat, DXF, ACIS (please, contact ApliCAD for other formats) with the proper sizing and the different textures to be applied to all and every one of them.

Once all needed information is collected, the catalog is generated for ApliCAD Interior. Usually, this procedure is performed by ApliCAD, but if the manufacturer wishes so, he can (with the technical advice from ApliCAD) perform it by himself. The generated catalog is of the exclusive property of the manufacturer, so is he who decides how to access it by ApliCAD Interior users.
